Sorry I stand corrected. There has been one fatality but until you get the report back from N.Z. you still don’t know what the disease is or without an autopsy if it was in fact this disease that killed the person. 

I stand by my accusation that the warning is premature and an over reaction and as my last comment stated I believe the government has an ulterior motive which will not bode well for the poor dogs of Samoa. 

Also I understand what a zoonotic disease is and that it can be passed from animal to humans. 

Ringworm is a zoonotic disease but can be treated easily with an anti fungal cream or guardia with antibiotics, just as leptospirosis disease can also be treated easily with antibiotics. 

I’m pretty sure there is more danger to the innocent people of Samoa from escaped prisoners or land expropriation, than from the poor dogs and their so called zoonotic diseases.
