The Queensland Reds rugby team have speed, skill and very soon, style 

In June, when the Queensland Reds touchdown in Apia they will be dressed to impress, thanks to local business, Pacific Jewell, who are partnering with the Blues Super Rugby fancies to provide the official elei outfits for the Reds team.

The owner's of Pacific Jewell, are Tauā Paul and Vivienne Phillips.

“We just signed our contract to be partners in providing the outfit for the Reds," said Taua

This is an exciting time for the company to showcase their handmade unique elei apparel.  

“Everything is handmade here. It’s not made in a factory or anything.  The designs are done by our local boys and all the prints are unique.” 

The company is currently in the finalization process of trialling different designs to best encapsulate the Red’s style and Pacific flavour.  

Tauā said this is a great opportunity to showcase Samoan fashion to the world as all eyes will be on Samoa come June.  

“It’s especially a good opportunity to advertise and promote our elei designs to the Australian market through this.”

Tauā, as a former Manu Samoa player has personal memories of the Reds’ team.

 “I do like the Reds, there are a few Samoan boys in there,” he said.  

“I remember the Queensland team came here, years ago.

“I actually played against them and out of all the Australian teams and even New Zealand too, probably the Queensland team has done more for the local teams because they’ve been here a few times.”

“We had people like Michael Lynagh, Tim Horne, you know the famous rugby players, they came with the Queensland team.”

There was no need to ask this former rugby player which team he will be cheering for on the evening of Friday June 2.
