China’s Ambassador to Samoa, Wang Xuefeng, has fulfilled a promise to the students and teachers of Samoa Primary School in Vailele.

Yesterday, Mr. Xuefeng and his Good lady, Tong Xin, donated gifts for the students as well as equipment needed to improve their learning environment.

“Last year, after I visited your school, I talked to your teachers and I promised them to bring you a projector and a screen,” he said.

“Today, I am bringing these gifts to you so you can watch movies using the projector. This morning I am also bringing New Year’s gifts of volleyball, soccer balls and pants.”

But that wasn’t all. He also gifted each student a panda teddy bear.

“China and Samoa are good friends, so I am your good friend,” he said.

“Today I am very happy to visit your school at the very beginning of the academic year, so I wish all the teachers good health in the New Year, and all the boys and girls the best in their studies.”

Samoa Primary School Principal Susan Su’a said they were extremely grateful.

“We are thrilled with the Chinese embassy’s help,” she said, “The ambassador has been great friends with the Samoa Primary School.

“Even in 2004 when we first started they had wonderful gifts. We always kept in touch with the Chinese Embassy and they always offer their assistance in helping Samoa Primary.

“Thank you.”
