Anoanoai Tinei and her sister Elizabeth Tinei celebrated Independence Day in style by having breakfast with Queensland Reds star, Quade Cooper.

The breakfast was part of the prize for the Reds winner of Clash of the Colours competition sponsored by Sheraton Aggie Greys Hotel and Bungalows.

Anoanoai Tinei as the winner. She also won two tickets to the game last night and Eveni elei apparel.

“We’re really happy, it’s the first time we meet him and see him in person,” she said.

Cooper was also happy to spare a moment of his busy schedule to be with some of his fans.

“It’s nice to meet them and I appreciate their support. It’s nice to be out here meeting one of the fans and all the support you have,” he said.

“In this day and age, there are a lot of people who are negative so you’ve got to have a bit more time with the people that are positive and supportive.

“I just appreciate all the support from close and afar and all the people who take time to support you with some positive energy and it goes a long way.

“Sometimes you might not get a response back or something like that but just know that we’re always reading it.

“We’re always grateful for all the support and people overseas supporting me so we appreciate that.

He added: “It’s been nice being here all week, we’re adjusting a little bit to the weather, and it’s a little bit warmer than back in Australia so it’s been great.”

Competition organiser, Marj Moore said there was a lot of interest because of the great package of prizes.

“It was also a chance for fans to declare their allegiance to their favourite team and players.”

Other sponsors of the competition were Samoa Observer, Eveni and Taumeasina Island Resort.
