Netball Samoa kicked off their Oriana KidsNET development tournament at the National University of Samoa Gymnasium on the weekend.

Focusing on the next generation of Netballers was indeed the main objective.

Netball Samoa Chief Executive Officer, Rosemarie Esera said it is exciting to see the young netballers show so much interest in the sport.

“The Oriana KidsNET development Programme is an accelerated learning Programme providing players the chance develop and extend their technical, tactical and development skills as well as inspiring a lifelong love of the game.”

Esera added that the Oriana KidsNET development programme was reviewed and amended to reflect and encourage a broader talent pool, which includes a tournament played as part of the programme.

Esera said they were excited to have Bluesky Samoa join the Player Development Programme aimed at the next generation of Netballers.

“The development of our future players is a priority and we are pleased to have BlueSky join the team to help take this programme around the country.

We know how important it is for young people to participate and be active in sport and the role that plays in such an important development time of their lives,” she said.
