Trust God and spend wisely

Have faith in God and trust his timing.

He owns everything and he knows what is good for our lives

That is the view of Junior Tolovae, 20, of Faleasiu when the Village Voice caught up with him.

He was on his way home from the Village Council meeting when he was interviewed.

“I am from a family with strong beliefs in God and we value our Christian faith very strongly,” he said.

“So for that reason, no matter how hard life gets we always believe that God will never leave our side.”

The young man said there are a lot of issues these days.

Many of them revolve around crime and social problems.

In his village, the village council and churches play a critical role in solving these issues.

This is why their monthly meetings are important.

“I believe in the principle of serving people with honour and integrity and you will receive blessings later on,” he said.

“So that is how I’m living my life these days… serving the Lord and supporting our village in everything they do.”

The 20-year-old is from a family of 10 including his parents. He and his older brother are the only breadwinners working to support them.

“Life is getting hard these days, I work at Vailima and I do nightshifts. I love my work and I’m earning good money from it.”

He added: “It’s true that the cost of living is getting more expensive but I tell you nothing is expensive if we budget wisely… we all know nothing comes with a cheap price anymore because everything has gone up.

“Spend what you know you can afford instead of being too greedy.”

Junior Tolovae and his family are A.O.G church members in Faleasiu.
