The Apia Central Stake concluded their annual conference this year with a  Christmas carols evening. The event saw members from nine wards come together to enjoy the spirit of Christmas.

Speaking to the Samoa Observer, President Jason Joseph said the gathering is one of the most anticipated events of the year as choirs take to the stage to rejoice in the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

“Many celebrate Christmas going to the clubs, partying and other means but we decided to keep it this way and we enjoy it,” he said.

President Joseph believes Christmas should be celebrated every single day from the 1st December leading up to the 25th.

“This is not a competition, the prizes we give them is a way to encourage and acknowledge them for the great work they did.”

President Joseph said they invited a choir from Sa’aga Siumu as well as a couple of soloist performers.
