Samoa’s world heavyweight champion, Lupesoliai Laauliolemalietoa Joseph Parker, has what it takes to beat Anthony Joshua.

The glowing endorsement of Lupesoliai’s winning ability comes from boxing legend Faumuina Toaletai David Tua.

“I know he can do it,” he said in response to a question about his thoughts on the upcoming fight.

“I hear people say this and that but obviously there’s ways to go around it.

"I thank God that Lupesoliai Joseph Parker is determined to go this far and I believe that this is his time.”

Tua said Parker will need a clever plan and he knows he is capable of pulling it off.

“He’s just got to put together some clever strategies because you know it’s not just knock outs,” he said. “When I was in the sport I thought it’s only the knock outs that counts. But a person can win on points as well. So I think he can do it when he gets all his strategies and fitness together.

“My prayer for him is that may the Lord be with him on his biggest fight of his life and give him the strength to go hard.”

His other advice for the world heavyweight champion is to always ask questions.

“I know as Samoans we were brought up in a way that we should never question the elders because you give your heart and hope that they know what’s best,” he said.

“But obviously things have changed and there’s always motives behind stuff so I think to me always ask questions, what this is all about and what does that have to do with things.

“But I he can do it. Even if he doesn’t make it then who cares? He can try again because he’s still young.”
