A masterpiece in Samoa
A dance theatre Show called 1918 has been described as a masterpiece by members of the audience at the National University of Samoa (N.U.S).
The show, by Wellington based company Le Moana, retells Samoa’s story of the 1918 Influenza epidemic that swept through the country, claiming many lives.
Directed by Tupe Lualua, the story is inspired by the memories of her beloved Grandmother, Avea’i Fui, and the research of Dr. John McLane.
A local audience got the chance to see the show for the first time on Wednesday night.
