One more Chinese Restaurant is now open at Vailoa. 

Burger & Fast-food RTV Restaurant is a new restaurant which offers a variety of Chinese Cuisine and Western Food.  But that’s not all. Owned by two Chinese businessmen, Da Zhang and Li Yun, who is also the owner of West Style Hair Salon, the Restaurant is also offering karaoke for all those wanting to test their vocal chords.

In an interview with the Samoa Observer, Li Yun said that it took them four months to build the restaurant.  “My friend asked me if I wanted to do business with him and so I said yes,” he said. 

“The restaurant is worth $100,000, and RTV restaurant does not only offer food, but it also has a karaoke inside where people can come to eat, relax and sing if they want to.”

Mr. Yun has been staying and doing business in Samoa for five years now.  “I like doing business here in Samoa,” he said. “I came here five years ago when my friend told me to come to Samoa because it’s good to have business in Samoa. So I am here with my fiancé running our West Style hair salon."

“It’s different from China,” he added. “There’s no pressure here and it’s hard doing business in China because you have to wake up early everyday and catch a train to go to the city…and everyone is so competitive there. Here it’s peaceful.”

Last month, one Asian restaurant was closed. It was reported that they were using dog and cat meat in their burgers. Mr. Yun said he heard the reports. “We know it was owned by another Chinese businessman. But we are not related to the owners of that Restaurant.

“I know our reputation has been ruined because of what happened to that restaurant, but I want people to know that we are not the same.

“We have hired local people to work at the restaurant and some Chinese as well. But my friend Da Zhang is looking after the restaurant and to be honest with you, we are not using dog’s and cat’s meat for our food. We will never use those meats in the restaurant as well. 

“I have been staying in Samoa for five years now, and I love it here. It’s nice doing business in Samoa.”
