Day 1 of the official Samoa Swim Series was spent out the Manono Channel for the Manono Island swim.

Sixty swimmers started out in two groups in the 4km and 2km swim back to the wharf at Manono Uta.

Conditions were choppy and challenging, but all finished including eighty-six year old Supa Sid Salek. Winner of the 4km is defending champion Reece Southall who swam from Faleu Manono to Manono Uta in 52 minutes flat.

4km Swim winner is Rebecca Brown of Eltham in Taranaki in 37 minutes.  Sid Salek swam the 2km in 1hr 37mins

Swim 2 of the Series is back at the 10km swim course at Saoluafata Harbour.

The final swim today is at Sinalei Reef Resort.

This is traditionally the final act of the fabulous Samoa Swim Series.  Many of the swimmers will then transfer to Savaii for more swims on the big island.
