As the second youngest in the Toloa household in Brisbane, Australia, Hopelynn Aiesi Toloa, contestant number six, representing Samoans in Australia, is up for the Miss Samoa challenge.

“It has always been my dream to be in a beauty pageant, or some form of which, where I am able to represent my country, Samoa,” says the daughter of Kikisone Toloa Uelese and Mrs. Laumua Toloa.

“It is still overwhelming that I’ve been chosen to be Miss Samoa Australia.

“I now look forward to the experience and the many challenges I am going to face, but I know my good Lord will help me, I will do my best and He will do the rest.”

And now, to the business at hand... as a full-time student, pursuing a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts & Humanities with the Australian Catholic University, the Miss Samoa Australia sees the beauty pageant platform as an opportunity to encourage and incite change in Samoan mindsets regarding education.

“Education should be a priority because it’s more than just a necessity.

“An educated nation can solve economic challenges and improve the living standards and conditions.  And I believe Samoa has what it takes to become an educated nation.”
