Nine Police Officers have successfully completed a two-weeks Defensive Driving Training course. The training was officially closed by the Commissioner of Police, Fuiavaili’ili Egon Keil.
The training was held for two weeks and was conducted by Corporal Va’afusuaga Koreti Fidow and Corporal Vani Sila who are qualified from Australia to deliver this training.
“The main objective for the continuation of this training is to minimize costs associated with related traffic accidents involving police vehicles due to unqualified drivers operating police vehicles,” a statement from the Police said.
“This is creating a financial burden to the Ministry’s budget and affects operational capabilities each financial year.”
The Commissioner of Police congratulated the participants for successfully passing the training.
He also encouraged them to practice what they have learnt in order to reduce liability costs to the Ministry’s assets.
