The Member of Parliament for Faasaleleaga No. 4 has returned to serve his constituency for the next five years.

Peseta Vaifou Tevaga is back after he collected 632 votes while rival Vui Umamalu Sione Tinomalu Iiga gained 213 votes of the preliminary counts.

Peseta said he is ready to look into further development of his constituency.  “I am very thankful that I still have the support of my village and the whole constituency,” said Peseta.

He also thanked his family for putting their faith in him in taking up this role as an M.P. for Faasaleleaga No.4 for the second time.

Peseta said there are many unfinished projects that need to be done over the next five years.

He said the first project that he will prioritize will be the Asaga School building.

Peseta said his company will build the school building with the support of the village.

Proposals to Government are already in for the development plans for Fa’asaleleaga No.4, Peseta said.

And now he has returned, all he needs to do is to remind the government about the proposals.

Peseta said the construction work for Maliolio River Bridge at Samaleaulu will soon start, however he still sees no point for that bridge to be constructed while the bridge at Lano remains the in the same condition.

“The bridge at Lano is not safe for transportation and for the general public to travel on.  “Many lives have been lost at that river and that is on top of my priority list is to get this bridge fixed,” said Peseta.

He also said he still remembers the tragic accident that happened in 2013 which claimed the lives of two young girls.

Not only that, but when heavy rain falls and the river overflows, the children cannot make it to school.

Vehicles cannot make their way to the other end as well when there is a strong current.

Other improvements that need to be made in his constituency include inland roads at both the villages of Lano and Asaga, because many people have moved inland to develop plantations.

Peseta said his plan for the next five years is to make sure that he finishes all the projects that are already with government before he looks into other developments.
