Member of the Samoa Beach Volleyball Association who were sent to represent the country in the Haili tournament in Hilo has not only made the country proud but also took the opportunity to strengthen the bonds between the two countries with regards to the sport.

With the sport not being a popular choice for Samoan athletes the team had their work cut out for them to make their efforts known; they still represented their country to the best of their ability.

The team left Samoa on March 16th not only to represent their country but also to pave the way for future tournament potentials between Hawaii and Samoa.

Before making their way to Hilo for the tournament the team decided to make the most of their opportunity by representing Samoa in another tournament in Honolulu even though it was not part of their schedule.

Unfortunately the team dropped in the semifinals for both tournaments while immersing themselves in the international arena, but gained more experience and confidence in the sport.

According to the Association President Kennaway Maisa, the opportunity has built up networking capabilities for local teams to participate in future tournaments in Hawaii.

The same is expected of Hawaiian players with regards to attending future tournaments to be held in Samoa.
