Deception and scheming oli

Dear Editor

Isn’t it nice to hear all future projects for almost every part of Samoa - with the promise of prosperity coming out at this time of the year?

Se malo lava HRPP le taumafai, I wish I can say ‘malo le fai mea mafai’ but this is nothing but deception and scheming politics at it’s best.

Can I ask how many international wharves you want to build in Samoa?

A crook of a man just last week named Salelologa as a future international wharf, and now the dream is Vaiusu and Matautu.

Isn’t Matautu an international wharf already?

Too much pepelo boys. Even your memory boxes are corrupted and confused by too much pepelos.

Let’s not look too far ahead of ourselves by pulling ideas out of thin air.  Our biggest industry is tourism, but we are not the biggest market in the Pacific so why not make that a realistic challenge and try to compete with Fiji and New Caledonia and Tahiti in this lucrative market?

Even that drain-on-the-economy and disappointment called Polynesian Airlines isn’t a serious competition to regional carriers so why try to talk macho as if H.R.P.P. can realistically build anything credible and of international standard? We need to strengthen our justice system and NPO so that international investors can be confident to bring their hard-earned cash to Samoa so that Samoa can be a world class destination for tourists - that’s where the money is. Try not to waste our money on building more wharves in the middle of the Pacific ocean, it is not an ideal place for a hub like Singapore, so let’s be real people.
