Young people who obey their parents will always be blessed.

That’s the opinion of a 21-year-old male from Vaitele who believes young people have a job to prioritise their parents and families.

Esera Tuiala works at Frankie’s Supermarket at Vaitele.

He had worked at Mulifanua before but decided to find work closer to his home to save money.

“I wanted to work somewhere near my family,” he said.

“Even though the money I earn from my work now is not enough compared to my previous work, the most important thing for me is that I put my family first.”

“Now I can walk from home to work. I not only save money for my family but I’m also closer to my parents.”

“They have lots to do and I can help them.”

The money Esera makes helps his parents pay for water, electricity and other daily expenses.

But they struggle like most families.

“The biggest challenge is the high cost of living which is not easy for me. That’s why I work hard every day to earn more money for my family.”

Esera is also looking to raise a family of his own in the future.

“In the meantime, I have to do something, I help my parents in every way I can, especially money because life nowadays is always about money.”

Esera sees that this life is full of changes and challenges happen.

“I see that lots of young ones are not going to school anymore and not looking for a job but their parents do really need help from them.”
