Hard work will not go unnoticed at Samoa Breweries.
Yesterday, the company recognised the hard work of their staff members as part of an ongoing programme to recognise excellence.
The top prizes contested included the Employee of the Month for each department and the Team of the Month awards.
The departments, namely Production, Quality, Safety and Environmental, Brewing, Engineering, S.O.P. Sales and Marketing and Finance/H.R./ I.T. all vied for the Team of the Month Award.
Manager of Training and Development, Muliagatele Lynette Petelo, said identifying the input of their employees helped to strengthen the relationships between the staff and the management.
“Whether an employee works at brewing or other departments here, it is important to recognize them for their hard work,” Muliagatele said.
The company believes if employees and their work are valued, then they are motivated to maintain and improve what they do.
“The fact is, if we recognize our employees, tell them what we expect from them and recognize them for a job well done in programmes like this, there’s no doubt that they will provide great performance.”
But that’s not all; another great milestone they celebrated yesterday was the fact they now have a new export market in the United States of America.
This was announced by the General Manager of Paradise Beverages in Fiji, Mike Spencer.
“This has been a really big year for the company and this month is going to wrap up nicely.
“I don’t how how many of you know but we have secured our first ever order to America.
“We are going to send 16,000 cases of beer to the United States of America for the first time.
“It took us one year to negotiate and it has finally come through and it’s a really wonderful Christmas present for us.
“So you will be making 38,000 cases of export beer this month and that will finish off this year and this is probably the best year in the last 10 years.
“So congratulations and hope you have a very merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.”
