Big buildings, shame about the education

Dear Editor,

Re: “If P.M. says it’s rubbish, it must be rubbish,” says Minister Tuitama

As the old saying goes, “The blind leading the blind” (My sincere apology to blind people). In this case “Fools are following a Fool”

The state of our beloved Island Nation under these men/women will enslave our children for a century. As I was growing up in the 1970s, there were so many prevention programs.

Villages were hosting clinics on everything from proper eating diet to sexual education.

It was tailored to us as pre-teens. As I became an adult, those lessons are part of my life. I also learned those programmes did not cost a government any money.

We now have big buildings but we lack proper education. The government is focused on bigger buildings while ignoring education.

This government is reminding me of of some of the evil men who became leaders of countries. They burned books, closed down all schools and tore down churches. These men believed that if don’t educate your people, they will not rise against your ruling. It is how dictators came to power.

We are heading there Samoa.
