Cruise Ship arrives to beautiful Samoa

The early morning rain hailed the arrival of Cruise Ship - M/S Maasdam into Samoa, yesterday.

Operated by Holland America, the Cruise Ship arrived to a rousing welcome provided by E.F.K.S Youth Group from Fa’atoia at Apia Harbour.

Betham Brothers Enterprises was the Local Agent for the cruise ship, working hard with the Samoa Ports Authority and Samoa Tourism Authority to give visitors an experience they will not forget.

M/S Maasdam brought a total of 1139 passengers and more than 500 crew members.

Passengers were mostly from America, Australia and Canada although there were 16 other nationalities onboard the vessel.

Once the boat docked and welcoming formalities completed, the visitors and crew members enjoyed a day of checking out beautiful Samoa.

There multiple local businesses in the vendors area, selling handicrafts and souvenir items.

Various tours to local destinations provided by M&A Travel and Tours, who are the local Shore Excursion Operators for Holland America Cruises, saw a number of buses head to the villages yesterday.

Other tourists chose to check out the Apia Township, the markets and the few watering holes along Beach Road, including the Black Sand Casino.

The ship left for Fiji last night.
