The body of a man, discovered by Levi Saleimoa villagers on Monday who found him floating dead at sea, is a mystery.
The discovery was confirmed by the Police Media Officer, Su’a Lemamea Tiumalu yesterday who said the Police have launched a full investigation into the death.
“We are urging members of the public to inform us as soon as possible if they have any information in relation to how this man died,” he said.
“We are going to put out a notice informing the public about the deceased so that his family can identify him."
“Up until today, no one has lodged an official complaint about a missing person. So we don’t have much details.”
Su’a said the man was already dead when his body was discovered.
“The body had started to decompose,” he said.
Su’a said the deceased body is now at the morgue awaiting the autopsy to confirm the cause of death.
Su’a said it is hard to identify the man because of condition but he said he has a tattoo of a flower on his right shoulder.
