The Samoa Fa’afafine Association (S.F.A) has donated $1000 worth of food products to the Home of the Elders at Mapuifagalele.

According to one of the Charity Coordinators, Asia Stanley, the donation presented on Saturday was the final activity of the Fa’afafine Week.

“Today is the final week and we’ve decided to end with our charity,” Asia said.

“This is an ongoing event that we host and do every year it’s through our pageant and we thought that we should include it in our fa’afafine week because it’s our banner and we are known in contributing to the Mapuifagalele place.” Asia went on to say that this is their way of serving God through charity work.

“The spirit behind this is because we live here and we love to serve the people.

“The main thing is this is how we serve God. It is through these people and seeing our elderly here at Mapuifagalele is such an emotional thing.

“It is always an enjoyable moment as well whenever we get to see our elderly here it really touches our hearts and we feel that the sisters need help and this is how we can help.

“We know it’s small but it’s a little help we can give to help the sisters here who are looking after our elders. “I am actually speaking on behalf of the President of the Samoa Fa’afafine Association So’oalo Roger Stanley who is attending to another commitment hence why he is unable to be here.

“This is from the whole Samoa Fa’afafine Association and all the fa’afafines of Samoa.

“The other reason why we did this it’s because we want to celebrate with our elderly here at Mapuifagalele.”

She went on to acknowledge their sponsors. “We would like to acknowledge our sponsors of our FIVA Award‘s Business Winner SSAB as well as Fiti Leung and the staff, Ah Liki Wholesale and also our sub-clubs.”
