First impressions

Let’s hope Samoa is not judged on first impressions because if it is, we are in deep trouble.

The tail end of the hundreds of passengers arriving at the weekend on a full flight from N.Z. were subjected to close to a two hour wait to be processed.

So after a flight which takes around four hours, another two hours are spent hanging around.

Luckily for them as they were lined up on the tarmac outside the Arrivals hut almost right back to the plane, there was a break in the relentless rain while they inched forward.

And lucky again that those same tourists were not Samoan-speaking although they were probably expressing similar sentiments in the English language anyway.

Extra note to Arrivals Staff: Air conditioning works more effectively if you close windows and louvers. And once in the Arrivals area, don’t ask people to move over when it is patently obvious that they have nowhere to move to.
