Bank’s response worrying

Dear Editor,

Re: Counterfeit money found

So the Central Bank of Samoa says “the matter is not a new issue”

Really! If they have known for so long why haven’t they informed the public until now?

What’s the big secret?

Is the C.B.S conducting some secret undercover operation like the F.B.I?

Why did they only admit it publically when the media got hold of it?

To quote Gafatasi Hunter Pau from the C.B.S “There may be a 100 ways to counterfeit, but there are are 101 ways to catch them and bring them to justice.”

Why does this not give me any real confidence?

We the unsuspecting public should have been informed a long time if the C.B.S was aware of it.

I have spoken to a major bank and they were not aware of it being such a problem and the shopkeepers I contacted were totally surprised.

May I respectfully ask the C.B.S to be more forthcoming in the future about such a problem?

This will avoid any unnecessary losses being made.
