The driver of the Toyota Terios is lucky to have lived to celebrate Father’s Day today after this crash at Vaitele yesterday.

The vehicle veered off the road and rolled in front of Poloa Finance and Builders.

Police officers at the scene told the Sunday Samoan the vehicle was speeding.

“The vehicle was heading inland,” said one Police Officer who did not want to be named.

“When he got to the new road with the tar, he lost control of the vehicle. It veered off the road, hit a block of cement and the left tire at the front came off.”

The Police officer said they were patrolling the area when they saw the vehicle.

“When we got here the driver of the vehicle had already been taken to the hospital by some good Samaritans,” he said.

“The driver was lucky to be alive.”

The Police officer also used the opportunity to urge members of the public to be cautious during the long weekend.
