Businessman faces assault charge

The owner of the Ulia Construction Company, Ututa’aloga Charlie Ulia, has been charged in relation to an incident at Afega where he is alleged to have assaulted an elderly man from the village.

The charge was confirmed by Police Spokesperson, Maotaoali’i Kaioneta Kitiona yesterday.

He said Ututa’aloga faces one charge of assault as a result of a land dispute at Afega on 28 June 2016.

The businessman is scheduled to appear in the District Court on 26 July 2016.

“Ututa’aloga was charged on the 01st July 2016,” Maota said. “The Police are continuing their investigation.”

In the meantime, another police officer said some of Ututa’aloga’s employees have also been charged in connection to the same incident.
