Stressful importance

Have you ever had a moment where you were really stressed out about something?

Something that would depend upon the outcome of an important situation, such as your life?  And if you’ve recognized such a thing, then what did you do?

Did you freak out because of how important it was?  Did you convince yourself it was too hard to accomplish? Or did you succeed in completing the important something?

In life, there will always be something that will make us stressed or worried simply because it is so critical to the path we will take in life.  And one such task that lies ahead of me is SSLC or the Samoa School Leaving Certificate that I have to take due to my graduation of high school.

But like I mentioned before, it has been very stressful for me in the past month or so in my preparation for these exams.  I am so nervous and anxious to start these exams and get them over and done with.  But what makes this more ‘Scary’ than ‘Stressful’ is that I my first exam on Monday 14th November 2016, which is today!

Between me and my friends at my school, LDS Church College Pesega, I would think I’m the most stressed about the exams, but I know I will do good if I just take time to step back, breath and have confidence in my learning and capabilities.  My friends have also been a big help in staying loose and keeping the stress at bay.  I know I couldn’t have made it through the past few days without them.  So to Mr. Jay, Jukain and Roman Reigns from Romeo, I want to say thank you and good luck.

Everyone in life has to face something stressful and nerve-wracking, but that’s not the end of the world.  I believe stressful things are place in our path so we have something to work at and conquer in order to earn what lies ahead.  Someone once said, “A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials.”

One other thing I believe is that every trial and stressful event that we face are not too much for us to take.  We will always get through them if we truly believe we can. “God will never give you anything you can’t handle, so don’t stress.”  And I truly believe that with all my heart.

Some say that stress is the biggest part of not being able to overcome something, but that’s wrong.  Stress is not what happens to us, it is the response we give to something in life; and response is something we can choose. One of my favorite quotes on stress goes like this, “It’s not stress that kills us; it is our reaction to it.”

Stress for the important thing we face is natural and unchangeable, but we can come to understand it and use it to our advantage.

So learn to use stress and worry properly.  Understand that we are in control and that it is going to improve us in the end.

Love, improve, stay cool, change lives and trust God.
