Each and every child aspires to be someone better when they grow up. They all have different dreams and goals in life.

As for Samoa Pita, a 15 year-old, his dream is to become a church minister in the future.

He is a student from Faleata College.

His dream, he said, started when he was still young.

“It was from the time I was in Sunday school up to now.

“And I am doing everything I can to achieve my dream. I know it takes a lot of work to do in order for me to achieve this dream.”

And what work was he referring to?

“Obeying my parents and listening to them and doing what they tell us to do. This is where we get our blessings from.

“Another thing that I need to do in order for me to achieve my dream is to be committed to my studies. I also need to be respectful and behave in a good manner.

“Nevertheless, I will continue to go to Sunday school and especially church. I know that we get to learn about Jesus and his work during Sundays if we go to church and I want to know about him and follow his ways so I can be blessed.”

Asked if he had told his family about his dream, he said yes.

“Sometimes I tell my parents about it and try and explain to them what my dream is, but they always tell me to just focus on my studies first and obey them.

“And that’s what I am doing at the moment. Because I know that it’s better to start preparing for the future now.

“Goals and dreams are there for us so we can push and motivate ourselves to reach for the stars.”

Finally, Samoa said the main reason why he wants to become a church minister is because he wants to preach God’s word and be a tool for His ministry.

“I want to be one of His disciples and teach people about Him and His love for us.”
