The Samoa Chamber of Commerce and the International Labour Organization, delivered a training on Work Ethics and Soft Skills two weeks ago for former Yazaki staff members.

The training was part of the orientation session for the Yazaki Internship Programme.

This programme is part of assisting the transition of former employees of Yazaki into the workforce.

The training was delivered by Samoa Chamber of Commerce Member Services Manager, Lote Lima. There were 12 participants, all of whom are seeking employment after the closure of Yazaki in August.

The half-day training looked at the importance of having good work ethics and values in the workplace. Following past Internship Programmes, Ms. Lote said that the key factor that employers value and seek from potential employees aside from education is good attitude and initiative, “this may seem like a little thing but it makes a big difference in the workplace”.

“The Samoa Chamber of Commerce and Industry would like to acknowledge the International Labour Organization (I.L.O.) for supporting this initiative and Samoa National Youth Council (S.N.Y.C.) for its usual collaboration.”
