Saipani Eti is the Dux of Tanugamanono Primary School this year.

The award was announced during the school’s prize giving on Monday.

Proud parents, Faigalotu Salu, of Matautu Falelatai and Eti Ioane, of Nofoali’i with family and friends were present to witness the success of Saipani.

The 13-year-old’s hard work and determination was also recognised with the first place in Year 8 award.

Saipani is the second eldest of four siblings; his elder sister is in Year 12 in Samoa College. He plans to attend Avele College come the new academic year.

His passion is centered around sports, but unlike most children who plan to graduate and aspire to become professionals in special fields, Saipani dreams of becoming a Pastor.

And for his achievements, he thanked God for the guidance, knowledge and wisdom throughout his academic journey to date.  He said he knows that it’s not the end of his achievements with God by his side.

He also acknowledged the contribution and support of his parents.

His mother, Faigalotu said friends were the biggest challenge that Saipani faced, but despite this, he was able to stay focused on his education.
