Faumuina Tiatia Liuga, who was banished from the village of Sili, has been accepted back in the village.

Faumuina, who holds the Fa’aolatane title in the village, confirmed the decision.

He said the decision follows an ifoga they performed.

“I am happy,” he said. “The election was the main thing I focused on and now that it’s all over, I knew I had to go back to my village.

“Because that’s where I belong and I had to go back and be a part of it.”

He said that Sili is “home” for him and it wouldn’t be right for him to not go back.

“It was the right thing to do. I am glad that they’ve accepted me back to our village.”

The decision to ban the Member of Parliament of Palauli le Falefa was made prior to the result of an electoral challenge Faumuina filed against Le Tagaloa Pita.

Le Tagaloa Pita’s candidacy was disqualified under the monotaga or village service requirement.

On Thursday last week, the holder of the Fa’aolatane title and the incumbent M.P of Palauli le Falefa was accepted back.
