A vehicle belonging to local car rental company reported stolen has been found.

It follows a Facebook post which called out for public assistance.

“Please if you see a navy blue Honda Fit license plate number 27754 can you call the nearest police station or contact us immediately on 7700456/23009,” the post reads.

According to the post a customer “supposedly from Vaitele-Uta rented the car and failed to return it last Friday and now on the run with it.

“Your help is urgently needed please. Reward offered. Faafetai.”

When the Samoa Observer contacted the rental company, an employee who did not wish to be named said the vehicle had since been found.

“One of our employees spotted the vehicle and followed it and assistance was called in to the office and we went and got our vehicle back.”

The employee did not go into details, noting that the police had been informed and they have filed an official complaint.

“We found the vehicle on our own, but a complaint has been filed with the police in this case.”

A Police Officer who is not allowed to talk to the media confirmed the matter was reported to the police and they are investigating.
