Tusialofa Mamea Polani Pita of Matautu-Uta celebrated her 70th birthday with family and friends at the Faleata Golf Course last Saturday.

One of her daughters, Vineta, described her mother as a woman of courage.

“She is a very strong woman in our upbringing…she worked extremely hard to put us in school especially in ensuring that we were brought up God’s way,” she said.

“Our mother is the kind of woman who loves her family very much and all she wants is for her family to be in unity and have one heart to do everything.”

The 70-year-old is grateful for everything especially the continuous support of family and friends through prayers. “Having my children, great grandchildren around today is the greatest feeling ever,” she said.

“All glory to God for adding another year to my life…and I also want to thank everyone for their blessings and best wishes on my special day.”

Tusialofa has seven children, 19 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Most of them were present during the celebration.

Reverend Elisaia Koria, of the Congregational Christian Church of Samoa at Matautu-Uta, conducted the service to bless the birthday girl.
