Lefaga Catholics rejoice on Good Friday

For many Christians, Easter is the most sacred holiday of the year.

On Friday when the nation paused to celebrate Good Friday, Catholic churches at Lefaga came together to mark this most significant event on the calendar of Christians in the world.

The church members remembered the suffering of Jesus Christ during a march.

They sang hymns, danced, cried and expressed hearts of gratitude for the sacrifice.

The march was based on the belief that Jesus’ death and resurrection represents something more powerful: the potential for rebirth, salvation and renewal of faith.

At the end of the march, a service was led by Father Iose.

“God loves you so much that he sent his only son Jesus Christ to die for our sins,” he reminded.

“After his resurrection and ascension into heaven, he sent his spirit to live in our lives and empower us to live the abundant life."

“But we must personally ask him into our lives to be our Lord and Savior."

“If you are sincere about asking him into your life, I suggest for you to pray.”

Father Iose reminded that God sees everything.

“God knows your heart and is not as concerned with your words as he is with the attitude of your heart."

“Don’t forget to ask God to forgive us. He loves us.”

The celebration ended with a feast.
