Weeks of preparations paid off for the children of the Methodist Church in Puipaa as they delivered heart touching songs and plays.

About 170 children participated in the White Sunday church service, which was well attended by parents and members of the church.

Sunday school president, Mailata Auapaau Arasi said their overall preparations were a complete success as evident in the children’s performance.

“The children are divided into three categories and they are looked after by 20 teachers,” Mailata said.

“The kids have prepared songs, dances, plays but most importantly their biblical verse recitations. It only took three weeks to put together our White Sunday productions.”

Mailata believes it is important to have a day dedicated to children because they are God’s blessing.

“Children should also be brought to Sunday school so that they may be taught with the word of God.

“It is true what the Bible says that children must be educated with the right ways so that when they grow up, they shall never turn away from them.

“All of these teachings will be a beacon of light that will guide them in life when they come across challenges,” said Mailata.

The 75-year-old said parents of the church tried their best to provide the best for their children so that they can celebrate their day with a smile.
