Christmas lights returned to the front of the government last night, thanks to the Latter-day Saints 'Light the World' initiative.

Crews have been working late for the past few nights to ensure the lights were flicking last night.

Choirs from several area churches provided music for the celebration.

The government donated use of the land where the lights are located.

TV3 donated the tents for the performers and the audience.

Davis Burgess and Lemigao Sooialo, both members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, donated their skill, alongside many others to install the lights.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated the lights and the operational logistics. The community event is part of a world-wide effort to "Light the World" through Christlike service and unity.
