Studying for hours in the night and working extra hours during the weekends has paid off for Sagaga College Dux, Filiorosa Ailama.

The Year 13 student said she had sacrificed a lot throughout the year.

Her parents are Lipena and Fa’aliliu Ailama of Tuana’i.

“I have learned that if you work hard, nothing is going to stop you. Just keep believing and having faith in God because nothing is impossible,” the 18-year-old said.

Filiorosa, who aspires to become a missionary, also received top awards for English, Samoa, Computer Studies and C. Education.

“Everyone’s path is different and because I’m a member of Jehovah’s Witness, that’s why I’ve decided in the future to become someone who goes out to the world and spread the word of Jehovah and touch the lives of those who still have yet to know God.

“If God wants you somewhere, he will get you there and following God's call to become a Christian missionary is a great way to serve the Lord.”

Filiorosa dedicated her achievements to her parents and family.

“I know that without all the love and support they have given me, I wouldn’t have been able to be what I am today. 

“I would also like to thank all my friends and teachers who have contributed to my achievement,” she added.
