They say education is the key to success.

That is also the opinion of Laufou Misi, 60-years-old from the village of Sale’aula Savaii.

Laufou told the Village Voice that education is the main key to a successful life.

Laufou was among the happy villagers of Sale’aula who witnessed the launch of the new rugby academy on Saturday at Sale’aula.

The rugby academy of Samoa, also known as R.A.S opened up a new door in Savaii for the children of Savaii to learn and develop their skills in rugby.

And this has really made Laufou happy.

“These are rare opportunities,” he said.

He went on to say that the programme has also been supported by the whole village.

“Life is good here in Savaii.

“And today, we are so happy to have this very important programme.

“Just like the other chiefs from our village said, we are all grateful to this programme.

“We are proud and are delighted because we know that this programme looks at improving the skills of our children in sports especially in sports.”

Nevertheless, he believes that the programme is vital because it’s educating the children and teaching them so they can have a better future.

“That is the main important thing for us, is for our children to have a better future.

“This will up their skills in terms of rugby especially with this new programme in our village.

“This will be a platform for them to learn all the skills they need on how to play rugby and help them have a good career in rugby.

“Education is everything and I also believe that if our children want to become successful rugby players, then they need to be educated and well trained.”

Laufou credited the Lord for all His work.

“I give the praising back to God for choosing Sale’aula as the main center for this development in Savaii.

“This programme will expand the knowledge of our children on how to play rugby professionally and will help them have better future.

“We’ve been wanting to have something like this in Savaii and that’s why I am very grateful and happy that we now have an academy in Savaii to teach our children on how to play rugby.”

He also wanted to thank the organisers of the programme and everyone who worked hard to bring such a programme to Savaii.

“This is a stepping stone for our children to a better future. This programme will help our children in so many ways and that’s why our whole village will support this programme.

“We will work together to develop our children and support this programme.

“In that way, our children will continue on to develop their skills for a better tomorrow.”
