Tautua doubts H.R.P.P’s prediction

A pre-election prediction by the leader of the H.R.P.P Party that the election result is done and dusted has been doubted.

Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi said the H.R.P.P has already secured 18 seats even before voting day which means they have already won.

All that’s left now is to wait for the results and then they will celebrate.

But during the Tautua Samoa’s  weekly press conference, the leader of the Opposition party rejected the claim by Tuilaepa.

Palusalue Faapo II said nothing is further from the truth and no one knows the results until the election is finished.

“We have Tautua candidates running as individuals and they don’t know that,” Palu responded.

“That is what he thinks and that is him being high-minded.

“He always says that decisions come from God, so why is he making the decision now even before the election?

“Let the people decide and let us wait for the right decision.”

Va’ai Papu Va’ai agrees with Palusalue.

“He is counting the eggs before they even hatch,” he said.

“You are not supposed to do that.”

Samoa will go to the polls on 4 March 2016.

Of 171 candidates already registered, the majority belong to the H.R.P.P.

The Tautua Samoa has registered more than 20 candidates but the Party is claiming that they have a number of independents running, which they have yet to name.
