Water tank top of Danny’s wish list

The wet season is a good time for Danny Fou and his family.

Without running water, the rain is an early Christmas present for the 29-year-old from Leulumoega fou who says their family does not have a proper water supply.

He is hoping that a Good Samaritan can help him with a water tank.

“We have been living here for quite some time and we have never had access to running water from the government,” he said.

“Water is one of the main basics and it is really hard here because the only time we get to have water is when the rain comes.

“We are thankful that we are in the wet season so we can get as much water for our family while we are in this festive season.”

Mr. Fou is a planter. His plantation is only metres from his house.

“We have one person in our family that is working to support our family,” he said.

“I guess the reality here in our area is that if you don’t have a regular job, the plantation is your only option to make some money.”

Mr. Fou also acknowledged the initiative from the government that exports crops.

“I supply taro from my plantation to the Horticulture division in Nu’u who exports crops overseas.

“I am working hard on my plantation because I know this is my only contribution to support my family.”

Mr. Fou added that while his family is still struggling in terms of finances and water, they are happy.

“I am happy that I am here with my family and I’m trying my best to support them.”

“It is good that it’s been raining so much lately but the problem is because we don’t have big tanks to catch the water.

“So I am asking through your programme if there is anyone who can help me and my family out in terms of providing a water tank please.”
