Irrational, unfounded, senseless thoughts

Dear Editor,

To all those people calling for a name change at Avele, it is absolutely ABSURD to blame the name of the school.

Need you be reminded that Avele College was not the only school causing or involved in the fights. The issue is not new. It has been happening for years between many schools and it was unfortunate that Avele had to be the one to face the consequences. Schools involved in fights included other government and Mission schools around the town area. I am quite confused as where you got your idea of changing the school name and how it would help solve any of this.

You see, if you had a troubled child whom you named Kane, do you think changing his name to Abraham would make him behave like the “father of the faithful”? I strongly doubt it.

I am not an old student of Avele, nor do I have any special connection to the school, but I do respect Avele. Whether you like it or not, people who chose the name didn’t just pick it out of a comic book, or some silly action movie.

The name has its history and significance embedded in it.

Not quite sure where you get your statistics from on old pupils children attending other colleges, but it does not give you any justification on your argument about the name of the school.

Thank you for your irrational, unfounded and senseless thoughts.
