M/S Amsterdam returns with close to 2,000 visitors

Samoa is set to host close to 2000 visitors today when the M/S Amsterdam Cruise Ship, operated by Holland America, calls in.

The ship which is a frequent visitor to Samoa’s shores is scheduled to call into Apia today at 8am.

Betham Brothers Enterprises is the Local Agent, working with the Samoa Ports Authority and Samoa Tourism Authority to host the visit.

Some 1244 passengers and a crew of 605 are on the ship.

 The passengers are mainly from America, Australia and Canada although there are over 19 different nationalities onboard.

Other activities scheduled for the day include:

a. Welcoming entertainment on wharf on the arrival of the Vessel in the morning - provided by the Fa’atoia E.F.K.S Youth Group

b. Vendors area on pier for Handicrafts etc - provided by Samoa Ports Authority

c. Various Tours to local destinations provided by M&A Travel and Tours who are the local Shore Excursion Operators for Holland America Cruises The ship is sailing to Samoa from Hawaii and will continue on to Fiji it spends the day here.
