The Police are investigating three separate deaths.

They involve a three-month-old baby, 11-month-old toddler and a 24-year-old man.

This was confirmed by the Police yesterday.

On 10 October 2018, the Police said they received a call from the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital regarding a three-month-old boy.

“The biological mother of the deceased was interviewed and she briefly explained that her baby boy slept with his five siblings on the same bed. When she woke up she saw her baby facing down on the bed,” the Police said.

“The mother tried to wake the baby, but he didn’t respond and she immediately took him to the hospital for medical examination.”

The second homicide case involves an eleven-month-old boy who was also found dead.

“The mother of the deceased child claims that she noticed her son feeling sick and getting worse.

“Few days later, she realised that her son hardly eats and had gone skinny, therefore the deceased parents took him to the hospital.”

He died on his way to the hospital.

The third investigation involves a 24-year-old male who was confirmed dead upon arrival at the hospital.

“Circumstances reveal that the decease went fishing in the morning around 9.00am at Matafa’a Lefaga.

“Later in the afternoon the decease’s father noticed that his son had not returned from fishing. The father then went out to look for him and found his empty canoe. He returned to shore and requested assistance from the village to find his son.

“The village then went out looking and found his body. The deceased was taken to TTM Hospital for further examination, and medical reports confirm that the said deceased has a medical history of Epilepsy.”
