Tui’s Café: Passion for food

At Tui’s Café, there is a unique philosophy behind what it does.

It involves passion and a real joy to serve people the best way the Café owners know how.

“Unlike the other cafes around town, we don’t have that many staff members,” owner Tuitogamatoe Hicks says.

“It’s just my sister and cousin here. We know what good food tastes like and we wouldn’t serve anything for our customers that we wouldn’t have ourselves.”

Located at Matautu in the same building housing the U.N.D.P Headquarters, Tui’s Cafe welcomes you to their friendly, homey laid back eatery.

The cafe is the perfect venue for friends to catch up or special dates with your loved ones enjoying a cuppa choosing from the variety of choices on their menu.

Hailing from Tapu’ele’ele Savai’i, Tuitogamatoe has been running her café for two years now.

It was formerly known as “Lunch Bar” which was a small coffee house.

However, with the extension and renovations made to the place, it now has a new name, larger space for customers and an even more colourful menu.

Tuitogamatoe’s love of food comes across when she talks about the café.

A seasoned traveller who has spent a lot of time in Melbourne, Australia, it has always been a dream to open her own café.

“I have a passion for food,” she said. “I’d like to offer the same quality that I have experienced at other eateries here, but at a very affordable price.”

Tui’s Café has yet to finalise their lunch Menu.

But Tui promises that the needs of their customers always come first.

“Some of them have requested for power smoothies and we are working on that at the moment. We basically listen to our customers to tell us what they like and also what we like.

“We want people to be comfortable around here and have good food.”

Tui’s Café is also famous for their chocolate and cheese cakes and they do special orders for all special occasions.

So pay them a visit and make yourself at home at Tui’s friendly Café at Matautu.

Breakfast prices range from $15-25 and you can enjoy a lunch meal for less than $20tala.

And with Easter and Mothers day just around the corner, make sure to drop them a call and make your orders today.
