The Samoa Rugby Union (S.R.U.) and world renowned brand, B.L.K. Fiji, have signed a new four-year agreement.

Tonight, the deal will be celebrated when the Manu Samoa Sevens team model their new kits at the Tanoa Tusitala Hotel.

This was confirmed by the S.R.U. Chief Executive Officer, Faleomavaega Vincent Fepulea’i.

The team will be decked out in B.L.K. gear at the Las Vegas Sevens.

The deal means B.L.K. will supply all Samoa Rugby Union teams – including the women‘s teams.

“B.L.K. is a worldwide brand, anything that has to do with on the field apparel and also travelling off field. Playing and travelling gears,” Faleomavaega said.

He added that the partnership offers Samoa a lot of benefits.

“They can produce gears for us at last minute orders and it is quite a high demand with the last minute changes when players get injured and so forth. So those are the positive side.”

“They come in very handy to us in terms of supply and meeting our demands.’

“We have also put quite measures around the union to earn a merchandising revenue in terms of other gears that we sell out retail.”

He mentioned they are very pleased to have B.L.K. Fiji on board.

S.R.U. had other apparel suppliers in previous years such as B.L.K. Australia.

“It is quite a big undertaking for us; B.L.K. Australia was with Rugby Union before. But we have learnt our lesson from the past and we are trying to alleviate all the issues that we had before.”

“We are looking forward into a new partnership with B.L.K. Fiji and hopefully that will work out well for us.”

The C.E.O. hopes B.L.K. will supply all the local teams for the Super Nine.

“So we are working closely with them to try and come up with a good price to enable our local supporters and team to purchase at a discount.”
