The executive officials of the Bank South Pacific from Papua New Guinea visited the School of Hope on Monday.

Chairman of B.S.P, Sir Kostas Constantinou and Group C.E.O, Robin Fleming, visited the Samoa Victim Support Group (S.V.S.G.) staff and the children currently residing at the school as part of their tour to see the community projects that B.S.P. have initiated in Samoa. 

The B.S.P. officials donated food and household items for the children as part of their visit. Sir Kostas addressed the school before he and Mr. Fleming took a tour of the school.

“Our staff members are very proud to be involved in assisting in this area, this is an example. These problems with violence against women and children, we feel for you and we care. I hope that what we have contributed today (Monday) in the way of this food should go a long way. We thank you all for inviting us.”

According to B.S.P. Business Manager, Michelle Lemisio, in 2017, B.S.P. Samoa branch won the competition between all the B.S.P. countries for the best community projects.

“Hence why we wanted to showcase the works to the Chairman and Group C.E.O. and at the same time present some gifts to the children because we all know there is a need for food items here as well diapers for the kids. We built the kitchen and relocated the kitchen because it was in the main house.” 

“At the same time last year, we secured a booth for the Nofotane project so that they could sell their products at the market.”

In line with B.S.P’s objectives to support community projects that empower women and children, the School of Hope was one of their top choices to help support.

“Before we actually came here, we did the profiling of what S.V.S.G. was and what they stand for and the residents of the campus and why they are here,” said Ms. Lemisio. 

“So they are aware of the kids and their situations. They are quite proud of all the community initiatives that we have and this is probably one of the best ones that we have done so far.”
