Forty-one participants from Government ministries and state-owned enterprises have undergone a two-week training in report writing. 

Convened at the Public Service Commission, the training participants had to be divided into two groups in order to cater for the large number who signed up. The first group took the training September 10-12 and the second September 17-19. 

According to a press release sent out by the Government, the participants were trained on how to write reports and covered areas such as techniques on how to connect with audiences when writing reports; demonstrate knowledge on report writing process; demonstrate knowledge on different types of report structure; and produce a well-written report.

The participants who attended the training included those at officer level and senior staff members, and a principal who was equipped with the skills on how to conduct, write and create a well written report, the statement stated. 

Reflection of learning was evidenced in the knowledge shared during the course of the training in group discussions and the activities conducted. Presentations on the last day of the course showcased the application of report writing skills and styles learnt during the training. 

The participants also reiterated that the new lessons learnt will be utilised in their line of work and will be shared to their work colleagues.

The training was run by Faafetai Vaevaina (principal planning officer) and facilitated by Pereyos Lauano (HR and planning officer) of the Public Service Commission.  

The Office of the Commission continues to be a non-formal education provider, which provides capacity building programs across the public sector.
