A great service for Samoa

Dear Editor,

Re: Samoa Helicopters take off

Sounds good! So the tourism thing seems to have great advertising and has already begun to pay quite well from what we see online... congrats on that.

How about taking a few sene from each tourism flight tala and put that into the trust as a good faith incentive, so it doesn’t appear as though the whole air ambulance thing isn’t just a ruse mate ... with a start date of whenever while your tourism tala stream soars full speed ahead.

Seems to me the second person you should have spoken to was the fire rescue and emergency room up at the national hospital as well as Tuasivi to see what kind of coordination is required and training needed to facilitate your Air ambulance service.

Its a great idea... it’s a needed service but as one who utilises this type of service for clients while working in the Caribbean... it takes a dedicated crew of not just an experienced pilot and helicopter.... but qualified emergency paramedics and qualified ER doctor.

Trip insurance that includes emergency medical air evacuation included would assure your costs are met and encourage visitors to buy the coverage knowing that a dedicated ambulance evac company exists and can be relied on in that dire situation where time literally means life or death.

God bless your efforts in providing this service to enhance the safety and security of beautiful Samoa. I applaud the PM for his farsighted support of such diverse business as this with obvious beneficial aid for Samoa.
