The Bank South Pacific has proven that they are not just a financial services provider, demonstrating their support of girls in the field of Information and Communications Technology (I.C.T) through the donation of two Samsung Galaxy tablets to the Office of the Regulator.

The I.C.T devices were presented to the Regulator, Unutoa Auelua-Fonoti, at the bank’s main branch in Apia for their upcoming “Girls in I.C.T” workshop.

BSP Samoa Business Manager, Michelle Lemisio, said the bank endeavours to collaborate with the local business community on projects which contribute to the development of our people.

“We are happy to partner with the Office of the Regulator on this initiative as it fosters new opportunities for young women in Samoa,” she said.

“I.C.T continues to evolve at a rapid pace around the world so we encourage girls to delve into this field as it is a great career path and can open a lot of doors for the future.”

The bank has come on board once again this year as a partner for the “Girls in I.C.T” day, donating cash prizes for last year’s workshop.

The event focuses on promoting I.C.T careers to young women and the opportunities available to them with activities shaped around how they can participate in the I.C.T revolution.

It will be held at the T.A.T.T.E building on Thursday 28 April.
