Bank of South Pacific launches $3.78 million refurbishment

The Bank of South Pacific (B.S.P.) celebrated the official opening of a $3.78million project to refurbish the Retail Banking Area of their main branch in Apia this week.

Minister of Finance, Sili Epa Tuioti, was among the guests at the opening on Tuesday night. He congratulated the management of B.S.P. saying it was wonderful to have top-notch facilities in Samoa so that customers don’t have to leave Samoa to be able to experience the use such state of the art offices.

The project was carried out by Fletcher Construction Company Limited over seven months with Asiata Van Wright as the Quantity Surveyor.

Country Manager Taitu’uga Maryann Lameko-Vaai said the refusbishment is all about the bank’s efforts to provide a superior banking experience.

“The vision of the Bank of South Pacific is to be the leading financial services provider in our chosen markets, helping customers, staff, shareholders and communities prosper,” she said. 

“This Refurbishment reaffirms B.S.P’s commitment to providing a superior banking experience for our customers, and embedding a whole-of-bank customer service culture complete with new Prime Banking, Business Banking and General Banking facilities.” 

Taitu’uga acknowledged the B.S.P’s Board, especially Group C.E.O. Robin Fleming, who was in the country for the opening.

“The project was awarded to Fletcher Construction Company Limited and I would like to acknowledge Mr Chris Schembri, John Muholland, Peter Humrick, the Fletchers team and all the subcontractors for a job well done.

“I would like to acknowledge Mr Asiata Van Wright our project Quantity Surveyor, who made sure all the boxes on our checklist were ticked. I also would like to thank Mr Bill Gordon of Tinai and Gordon for his assistance in the beginning as we were trying to navigate our way through the arduous task ahead. 

“Thank you to all our staff who have been a part of this project, I know that you have worked so hard to get the branch ready for this evening and I personally thank you for your efforts. 

“Last but not the least, I would like to acknowledge and thank the project manager Mr Rod Greed for your hard work, perseverance and for seeing to every detail of this work. Despite the long hours, you complained very little and even gave up your usual Friday nights with the guys just so you can keep an eye on things.”
